Seu Capoeira que aconteceu
Naquela roda em noite de lua
Deu meia-lua, levou cabeçada
Meu camarada pode acreditar
Pois nessa roda foi uma beleza
Na certeza que eu vim de lá
Daquela terra muito abençoada
É da Bahia que eu vou falar
É de manda lecô
Cajuê
Manda loiá
Cajuê
Lecô
Cajuê
Loiá
Cajuê
The capoeira that happened
In this roda in the moon-lit night
He gave a meia-lua, gave a cabeçada
My friend you can believe it
Because this roda was a fine one
Especially because I came over
from that much blessed land
It’s about Bahia I will speak
É de manda lecô
Cajuê
Manda loiá
Cajuê
Lecô
Cajuê
Loiá
Cajuê
Did you know?
Bahia
Bahia, particularly its capital Salvador and the surrounding Recôncavo region, is the historical and cultural birthplace of capoeira in Brazil.
Salvador was founded in 1549 and served as a major port for the transatlantic slave trade, bringing millions of West and Central Africans to the region.
