Capoeira é luta é dança
Capoeira é arte é magia
Capoeira é luta é dança
Capoeira é arte é magia
Eu jogo a capoeira
Pois ela é minha alegria
Quando eu toco Berimbau
Minha alma se contagia
Pois viver sem Capoeira
é uma grande agonia
Meu coração logo para
Meus olhos ja não brilham
Com a falta de Capoeira
Que é um vicio de alegria
Capoeira é o meu jeito de ser
Capoeira é minha filosofia
Capoeira eu joguei ontem
Jogo hoje e jogo todo dia
Capoeira é luta é dança
Capoeira é arte é magia
Capoeira é luta é dança
Capoeira é arte é magia
Capoeira dia e noite, colega velho
Capoeira noite e dia
Capoeira é luta é dança
Capoeira é arte é magia
Se não fosse a capoeira, colega velho
Eu aqui não estaria
Capoeira é luta é dança
Capoeira é arte é magia
Vou fazer da capoeira, colega velho
A minha filosofia
Capoeira é luta é dança
Capoeira é arte é magia
Capoeira is a fight, is a dance
Capoeira is an art, is magic
Capoeira is a fight, is a dance
Capoeira is an art, is magic
I play the Capoeira
Because its my joy
When I play berimbau
My soul contaminates you
As living without Capoeira
is a big agony
My heart soon stops
My eyes yet dont shine
When theres no Capoeira
As its an addictive joy
Capoeira is my way of being
Capoeira is my philosophy
I played Capoeira yesterday
I play today and I play the whole day
Capoeira is a fight, is a dance
Capoeira is an art, is magic
Capoeira is a fight, is a dance
Capoeira is an art, is magic
Capoeira day and night, old friend
Capoeira night and day
Capoeira is a fight, is a dance
Capoeira is an art, is magic
If it wasnt for Capoeira, old friend
I wouldnt be here
Capoeira is a fight, is a dance
Capoeira is an art, is magic
I am going to make of Capoeira, old friend
my philosophy
Capoeira is a fight, is a dance
Capoeira is an art, is magic

Berimbau
- The berimbau is a single-string musical bow of African origin that functions as the absolute leader and commander of the roda.
- The instrument dictates the exact speed, stylistic tone, and combat intensity of the capoeiristas through specific rhythms known as toques.
- A traditional berimbau is constructed from a wooden staff, a steel wire, a hollowed gourd resonator, a small stone or coin, a bamboo shaker, and a wooden thin stick.
- In a traditional orchestra, three distinct pitches are used: the deep-toned gunga to lead the group, the medium médio to hold the rhythm, and the high-pitched viola to improvise.
- Enslaved Africans historically used the live music of the bow to camouflage their outlawed martial art, making the training look like an innocent dance to colonial authorities.
- Today, the instrument holds a sacred status within the art, and capoeiristas show immense reverence toward it, celebrating its spiritual voice in countless traditional songs.
