Mestre Bola Sete wrote several books about Capoeira (A Capoeira Angola Na Bahia and Histórias e estórias da capoeiragem). He started with capoeira in 1962 and joined Mestre Pessoa Bá-Bá-Bá in 1968. In 1969 he joined Mestre Pastinha where he received his (mestre)degree in 1979.
