About Mestre André Lacé
Mestre André Lacé started with capoeira in 1959 in Rio de Janeiro. He went to the academia (Ipanema) of Mestre Sinhozinho where he saw a lot of collisions. So he started training with a friend in the club Olímpico. A couple weeks later he found an other academia (Romana) and joined with Neyder Alves”. In a short time he became a monitor and a little later he started to teach. In the same year as Mestre André Lacé started with capoeira he became a journalist (Rádio Roquette Pinto). He has written several books and articles about capoeira and made several interviews with ‘famous’ mestres (Caiçara) in his radioprogram “Roda de Capoeira”. Books he written: – Capoeiragem no Rio de Janeiro (Sinhozinho and Rudolf Hermanny) – A Volta do Mundo da Capoeira” – Capoeiragem no Rio de Janeiro, no Brasil e no Mundo” (also in French). -Memória da Capoeira”.
